Who we are

OnlyInRaleigh is an independent guide to local businesses in Raleigh, North Carolina, written and edited by a small editorial team based in Raleigh. This page explains what the site collects and how it is used.

What we collect

Three things. If you send us a suggestion through the Suggest a place form or a business inquiry through the List your business form, we receive what you typed: a name, an email address, a phone number if you gave one, and your message. We collect basic analytics such as page views, the links visitors click, the type of device and browser used, and the country a visit came from. If you save a place, that list is stored only in your own browser on your device; we never see it.

How we use it

Suggestions are read so we can decide whether to visit a place. Business inquiries are used to reply to you and to discuss a listing. Analytics are used to see which pages and places people read so we can improve the site. We do not use any of this for advertising.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers that run this site for us, such as our website hosting and analytics provider and our email provider, who process it only on our behalf.

Cookies and analytics

This site runs privacy-focused analytics that count page views and clicks without a login and without building a profile of you. It does not use advertising cookies or social media pixels. The saved-places feature uses your browser’s local storage, which you can clear at any time in your browser settings.

Retention

Form submissions are kept for as long as we need them to act on a suggestion or an inquiry, and no longer than two years. Analytics are kept in aggregate form only.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by writing to tdignan@onlyinraleigh.com. If you sent a form and want it removed, tell us and we will delete it.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Links to other sites

Listings link to the websites, booking pages, and social profiles of the businesses themselves. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with an updated date.
